Description: To celebrate the 20th anniversary of his debut album, Akon dropped Trouble (20th Anniversary Edition) on August 16, 2024. This expanded reissue is for the 2004 album that put the Senegalese-American artist on the map, blending R&B, hip-hop and global sounds.
Originally released on June 29, 2004, Trouble introduced Akon’s sound and storytelling. The album had hits like “Locked Up” and “Lonely” which showed he could merge personal narratives with catchy hooks. The 20th Anniversary Edition adds to that legacy with remastered tracks and rare remixes.
The anniversary edition has 27 tracks with the original songs and additional remixes and collaborations:
• “Locked Up” – The single that tells Akon’s incarceration story.
• “Lonely” – A chart topping hit with heartfelt lyrics and a sample of Bobby Vinton’s “Mr. Lonely.”
• “Bananza (Belly Dancer)” – A dancefloor anthem.
